The "JIMMY CHURCH BAND" based out of Nashville, Tennessee is one of the Mid-South's leading dance and show bands. The group consists of five musicians and two female singers, who are known as "Honey and Sugar".
The band has played such gala affairs and prestigious events as the Governor' Inaugural Ball in Little Rock, Arkansas; the Swan Ball in Nashville, TN; the Cotton Carnival in Memphis; the Junior League event in Lexington, KY; the Mardi Gras in Mobile, ALA; and the Xerox Corporation Convention in San Diego, CA, just to name a few.
They have performed in Clubs and Lounges of establishments catering to a variety of musical tastes, such as the Cajuns Wharf chain of Restaurants, the Radisson Plaza Hotels, the Hyatt Regency Hotels, and the Sheraton Hotel. Of course, they have played many Proms, Sorority and Fraternity parties, Debutante Balls, Cotillions, and wedding receptions. They are a favorite at many Southeastern Country Clubs. This band has also toured Europe, the Azores, Greenland, and Newfoundland.
Their song list includes music from the 50's to the 80's by such artists as the Drifters, Sam Cooke, Otis Redding, Jackie Wilson, and the Motown sound of the Supremes, the Temptations, the 4 Tops, Marvin Gaye, and Martha and the Vandellas. Beach music by the Tams, the Showmen, the Platters, J.J. Jackson, Maurice Williams, and others. Top Forty hits by Lionel Richie, Billy Ocean, Prince, the Pointer Sisters, Madonna, Whitney Houston, Tina Turner, and others.
